SB 287 – Farm Breweries: SB 287 bill allows the siting of “farm breweries” (think wineries except substitute hops for grapes) on property zoned for exclusive farm use. Wineries have been allowed in EFU zones for years, and the 2017 legislature approved the establishment of “hard cider” businesses using the same rationale. SB 287 allows breweries to also be placed in farm areas, with similar criteria for approval as wineries and cideries.
This is an important bill for Oregon’s craft brewing industry, and OPOA was glad to work with companies in that industry to get the bill passed.
