HB 2573 – Eases Criteria for Building a House on Farmland Containing a Cranberry Bog: HB 2573 allows a cranberry farmer to qualify for a farm dwelling if the farmer meets the $40,000 income test rather than the $80,000 income test that would normally be used to qualify a property for a farm dwelling. The bill sunsets in January, 2022. Passage of the bill will help a handful of cranberry farmers stay in business – a good outcome for a few coastal farmers.
